The Western Port Weather Station is located 1.5 kms offshore in the Balnarring Bight, Western Port, Victoria, Australia. Its location is 38' 23 South, 145' 8 East. The Weather Station is a joint effort of Merricks, Point Leo, Somers and Westernport Yacht Clubs. Initial funding was provided by the Australian and Victorian Governments and the Mornington Peninsula Shire. Further funding has been provided by the Balnarring and District Community Branch of the Bendigo Bank. Technical assistance has been provided by the Bureau of Meterology. |
